Adventure 53, part 3

One frustrating thing with the picture below is the location of Japanese metals. I won't be getting rid of them until the war is all but done.

The slow moving reinforcements are now starting to go to Justinian's borders to hedge my bets. I am not sure if I can get enough tiles from Japan to win. I can tell it is Saturday and the reporting deadline is almost here. I keep looking at the victory screen every time I get a border expansion notice. The mounted blitz takes Matsuyama in 1390 AD. The losses continue to be high for the horse units, but at this point I care more about speed of wrapping up the battle vs. Japan. Sapporo falls in 1400 AD. The second Carthage war begins in 1410 AD. It is time to get rid of his island city. The infantry takes out Kyoto in 1410 AD. It was very bloody, but Carthage is gone.

Nagoya falls in 1420 AD. The ground pounders take Osaka in 1430 AD. All the speed 1 units start the march toward Byzantine borders. The blitz ends in 1450 AD with the fall of Satsuma. Japan has been annihilated. With Justinian having 25% of the land I know it is just waiting for borders to pop. Justinian completes the Great Library in 1490 AD. That may be a record for late. I build Tadmekka in the middle of former Japan as the tile count feels a few tiles short.
Domination win - 1515 AD.

Not one of my better games.
I am sure somebody will beat this domination time.   Too much of the game was played rushed worrying about finishing before the deadline.   With better play I could have easily shaved 10+ turns off.   One mistake was not having settlers to claim former Japan faster.   The last couple of cities should have been razed and replaced.   Outside of barracks / walls / stables I build almost nothing - 1 granary, 2 lighthouses, 3 mints, 7 theaters, 1 coliseum and 1 Jewish monastery.
