Epic 8, the industrial era

I get a pleasant surprise when I complete the Statue of Liberty. Even though I was first to democracy, I didn't think Uzbek had the shields to pull it off. It looks keeping the monopoly on democracy as long as possible has paid off.

The next war begins, and my first targets are in former London.

It turns out I was premature in the attack as the RnG demons came out with a vengeance destroying several irreplaceable CR infantry / rifles in York. Hastings simply rolls over as the RnG starts to calm down. I finally get rid of the nuisance of Basra shoved in the middle of my empire.

Shortly after that attack London falls. While the stack by York was the monster stack, a second offensive stack appeared by Uzbek in the south. Fortunately the second stack is destroyed at no cost.

I build the warmongers wonder - The Pentagon.

Vandal is the next Arabian city to fall.

Medina turns out nice with having the Jewish Shrine. Najran falls shortly after that.

I get cursed with bad GP luck, as I draw a second prophet. Divine right has no interest, so I decide to simply merge him into Heliopolis. With Wall Street in that city he will truly be a super specialist. I continue to swing down the coast beating up Arabia.

I continue to swing along the coast, and Arabia will soon be nothing but a city on an island.

The final continental city falls.

I can tell I really beat Arabia to nothing when I actually get an expensive tech (physics) for peace.

I trip my second GA in 1871 AD. This will be by last one of the game, as I know the final war is coming soon with Rome. With Rome having Sam Infantry and Artillery I need a bit to get ready, as I will be attacking with inferior forces of standard infantry and cannons. My advantage is I got the right to build factories a lot sooner.

I am surprised when Rome eliminates America, as the finally city was a 1 tile island. I didn't think that the AI could pull it of. America had to have garbage units in Atlanta. Rome beats me to Broadway by 1 lousy turn.

I entered the Modern era in 1882 AD.
